Marian and her district partner won the 60th Annual Hunger Games and became mentors. However, she was very upset and had to watch many tributes die once every year. She saw how wrong it was and that the Capitol doesn't realize how barbaric it is.
75th Annual Hunger GamesEdit
During the 75th year of the Hunger Games, Marian, along with Daniel volunteered to participate for the 75th Annual Hunger Games. However, it is revealed that she and Daniel supported the rebellion and agreed to Haymitch's plan to protect Katniss and Peeta during the game. In the tribute parade, she is seen wearing a golden dress with designs that look like grains of wheat.
During the interviews, she wore a sleeveless top and a white necklace and a black skirt over a pair of slacks matching her shirt color. She spoke in a positive voice, but explained how wrong the games were during the past. After the tributes were interviewed, she, along with the other tributes, joined hands as a sign of rebellion against the Capitol.
During the initial Cornucopia bloodbath, she tried to help Seeder until she was killed by one of the Shadowkeepers that emerged from the water. She fought alongside with Cashmere and Enobaria for a while until one of the Shadowkeepers spotted her and threw a spear into her chest, killing her instantly. She placed 17th out of 24th. She was the last tribute to die in the bloodbath, surviving for 5 minutes 7 seconds.
After the Games, Katniss eventually found out that Marian was part of the secret alliance to keep her alive, along with all the victors.
