Personality: An ambitious yet quiet girl who learned to put her hopes aside for the future of her district. She subdued her dreams of becoming a fashion designer for a more practical livelihood in District 8, and as a result she comes off as depressed and anxious. She's patient and isn't stressed out easily, but she cracks under pressure quickly.
Background: Jute works in her mother's dress shop, which opens for a certain timeslot every year, and specializes in making clothes for the reaping. Jute worked in the back of the shop and sewed completely original clothes alongside the commissioned ones for the reaping. At home, after patching her hands up from the many punctures and pricks she'd get from sewing, she'd settle down on her mattress and use logs of colorful wax to draw designs on her walls.
Token: One of the white gloves she wore for her reaping. Her mother sewed the district seal on the back for luck - and for ID'ing the body.
